Inventory the junk in your backyard into detailed lists.

Provide the lists to your insurance agent or broker along with information such as how long it has been there, the reason it is there, and how long you expect it to remain there.

Allow the agent or broker to inspect your backyard. Write down anything he says about the junk that may have an impact on the insurability of your property.

Execute the insurer’s recommendation for cleaning up the junk pile or be prepared to pay an additional premium for the risk.
